Description
With its distinctive 10 rows of 10 balls this giant outdoor abacus lends itself to interactive play and early number recognition, counting and sequencing. Children can slide the balls along the rows to count them up or down, add them together, group them into 2s, 3s and so on. This is experiential learning in play! They can add them up in different combinations (number bonds) to make 10 (1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5) and can see what 100 actually looks like as a set. The abacus is both visually simple yet highly educational and with the children being able to manipulate the components it really helps to cement the learning. Made from rot, mould and water resistance materials the abacus is made to take all weathers and live permanently outdoors. A must for every outdoor area.
